Initial Submission
Checking Your Submission Status/Options
Once you have created an account and submitted to a journal, you can log in to the site as a returning user to check the status of your submissions.
As soon as you log in, you will be taken to the Paper Status page, where you will see two tables, Current Paper Status and Author Information.
The Current Paper Status section provides the following information:
Paper Number. This is the unique identifier associated with your work. It consists of the journal abbreviation, the year of submittal, and a five digit number.
Title. To view the full title, click on View Title. The title will pop up. (The full title is not shown to save space.)
Paper Type. This indicates the type of submission.
Journal. This is the abbreviation of the journal to which you submitted. To view the journal name, click on Journal abbreviation and the name will pop up. (The full name is not shown to save space.)
Status. This is a brief note on the current status of your work.
Options. These options will allow you to take specific actions. The options listed will change based on the status of your work and the availability of actions that may be taken at that particular time.
Update. You can update the elements of the record of your work as follows: revise the text, change the title, add or delete comments. Once the review process of the work has been initiated, however, you will be unable to revise the text of the abstract or the full document. Please note that you cannot update or modify the paper type or journal name.
Withdraw. You may withdraw your work at any time in the process.
Details. This link opens to a full detail page for each work listed. This will be your key to the complete status of your work.
Etc. Other options will present themselves as the work is further processed for publication.
The Author Information area is a separate table that provides information on each author of each work. This information consists of the following:
Paper Number
Author Names (shown in a pull-down list)
Options. These options will allow you to take specific actions. Please note that you must select an author name from the pull-down list before you can make any of the above changes.
Update. You can update the account information for yourself or a co-author.
Add. You can add an author by completing the account info form.
Remove. You may remove an author. Please note that you will be prompted before this action can be executed.
Update Roles and Publication Order. This feature allows you to change the role of an author if necessary or to reorganize the publication order of the authors.
If you are visiting the site to check the status and information but have no changes, simply use your browser back button to go to another screen or make another selection from the journal toolbar or footer.
